with ease and imagination
like a bequeathed beauty queen
in a nation weary of the weird
being criticized widely
as glittery and incisive
in capering dance
and brass fanfares
with advanced ticket sales
for the jaggedly handsome
and the raggedly romantic
as slicked-back shaggy
shaping the fragile
played dazzlingly
culminating in a standing
ovation of harmonic celebration...
